Amsterdam: First Afternoon
After a 13 hour drive from Prague, we arrived mildly beaten up and ready for room service and sleep.
We are staying at the Barbazon Palace; a 5 star hotel (By European standards not Las Vegas standards) in the center of the city. After checking in we made our way to our room and flipped on the TV.
The Sound of Pleasure
An interesting side note is here in Amsterdam, when you are channel surfing and happen to hit one of the pay per view channels, they actually let whatever is showing play for 5-7 seconds as a teaser to entice you to buy that particular movie. Well, imagine my surprise when I turned on the TV and before I had time to even hit the bed the room was filled with moans of pleasure, a husky male voice commanding “Yeah, suck it” and what sounded like a female gargling mouthwash.
Then the picture faded in. Of course, no surprise what was showing.
I guess the previous occupants decided to enjoy an evening indoors ;o)
First Impressions of Amsterdam
2:45pm
We just came back to the hotel to drop of some bags after a couple of hours shopping. It was sprinkling rain this morning and the afternoon is cool and very comfortable. So far, I really like the laid back atmosphere of the city. If Prague and New Orleans went for a summer fling – Amsterdam would be their love child.
Michele and I are seriously craving real, authentic Chinese Food. What passes for Chinese Cuisine is Prague is an abomination to ones taste buds.
Let’s hope and pray to the gods of Eastern Delicacies that Amsterdam has more to offer.
More later…
